time-site

Dope site found on another dope site,To Darrin Hudson.

I always wonder how far you can push a website. Typically it’s selling something of some sorts, be it physical things, services, ads and ideas. For me, a website can work as a piece of conceptual artwork. Now I don’t speak of the visual or techie aspect of the site, but more the message and mindset a website can put you in. Like a painting in front of your eyes, you soak in the colors and composition, the content, the name of the thing, the artist, it’s (possible) historical context. So Jeff Staple found a site that I feel falls into a conceptual art piece. The site is NYTIMES-SE. It was created by the The Yes Men, a group who love to cause corporate mayhem and confusion. So they spent six months creating this masterfull replication of the New York Times website. The difference? This edition of NYTimes is set for July 4th 2009. The content of the web-based newspaper?, A complete future look into what the United States SHOULD be doing. I mean complete, moral, physical, idealistic change. W. Bush turning himself in for high treason?! The Iraq war ending?! New York bike system expanded dramatically?! It looks and runs like the NYTimes website. You can go and drop comments. Imagine this being your reality on independence day! Check it out, soak it in, imagine it, push for it, live for it.
