I have been on the Team Milk since the wee age of 1 month. It feels so great to drink it. To bad it goes bad and stinks and taste like shit but aside from that it’s pure awesomeness. One of my earliest memories of my love affair with milk is the indelibly eternal Tom and Jerry cartoons from last century. They always made that milk so scrumptious that all I wanted was a glass. In this episode entitled “Dr. Jekyll and Mr Hyde”. Tom is so fed up with Jerry always drinking his milk that he poisons the batch and instead of killing the always dubious Jerry, it makes him into a temporary Hulk. Mayhem ensues and laughs are inevitable. The ending is super epic! Enjoy with a tall glass!

Urban Dictionary defines soul food as “An African-American meal usually including macaroni, fried chicken, collard greens, yams, mashed patatoes, rolls and occassionally sweet peas. These delicacies are typically mastered by one’s grandmother and cannot be duplicated by anyone else.”
While that is true beyond a doubt, and I have had my run ins with true Soul Food, I have to expand the definition by just a little.
My soul food is a morning meal. It became apparent in the beginning of this year after having a reunion with my huge family. We are of Colombian decent. And while there are many different meals that fill up the lunch and dinner sections of the day, breakfast seams to be the Triumphant Meal for us all. Everybody looked forward to the morning meal because it meant morninglight, a nice breeze, beautiful family and a spread consisting Arepas con queso, Perico (scrambled eggs cooked with chopped onions, tomatoes, cilantro and a few spices here and there), Biscochitos, Pan de Bono and finally chocolate con queso and or cafe. All this prepared by the hands of sisters that received these very recipes from their mother.
If Perico wasn’t prepared then it was switched out by a famous omelet made by my mother. This baby will put a koolaid smile on your face. It is so famous that a cousin who hadn’t had one in 10+ yrs specifically asked for one just last week. I always tried to make one but was always unsuccessful at the point of the flip. I attempted to make one after a 2 yr hiatus. This time around I did it and it was slamming. I have to say that it was slightly off from my mothers but thats only because only she can make it like she can. Its the soul food rule. In time mine will be a specialty as well. It was passed down from my grandmother to my mother to myself and that is awesome. Here is the simple recipe. Enjoy!
Ingredients
1 egg
1 slice of ham
1 slice of american cheese
salt
pepper
butter
Execution
Take egg, add your touch of salt and pepper. I always do more salt than pepper but thats just me
Scramble. Take slice of ham and chop up into small pieces. Take pan and butter her up. Medium heat and spread butter throughout the pan. Add egg and make it spread around pan slowly till most of it cooks. While there is still some raw egg on the top, place ham evenly on one side of egg. Take cheese and strip it and place her gently (she is godly) on top of the ham. Now take a spatula and take other end of egg and flip onto the other end of the egg to create a nice empananda looking thing. Let cook on each side for about fifteen seconds and plate it. It takes some practice to get the timing right but when you get it right she is firm on the outside and nice and juicy on the inside. None of that dry egg feeling in other omelets i’ve had in my short life. Serve it up with your favorite and bam! a wonderful breakfast…Enjoy your morning.
Interesting how life can change you in a short time. Living a life lacking pain and anguish, I felt mostly disconnected with most of what I did in my life. It was also a big motivator for my lack of motivation. There was plenty of passion and power to go around, but never the drive and direction needed to rock this baby to sleep. 2010 brings a ridiculous start to the ending of a equally spellbinding 2009. New energy, Old ideas, Love realization, Imagination flourishing, Family ties, Eyes set on the future/past/imperfect. On to the next one my friends…
Martha Stewart. Champion of arts and crafts, do it yourself home stuff, super food concoctions and other incredible stuff. Mega entrepreneur, ex- con, and all around gangsta, Martha has partied with the best of them. Look past her soft mommy dearest facade and you find out Martha has been down the road a few times. Aside from her instant street cred prison bid, she hung out with Busta, mingled with Conan and a 40oz of Old English and cooked it up with snoop a couple of times.
She recently took some time out with the indelible Snoop Dogg (not the first time btw, they made congac mashed potatoes not to long ago) to make some delicious brownies. Snoop being the sly fox he is, told Martha that there was some ingredients missing. Of course Martha had to inquire. The response?
No sticks no seeds no stems.
Martha plays along lovely…
Martha Stewart is the most gangsta chick on the planet. God bless her.

Have you seen how stupid we act sometimes? I mean STUPID. We spend most of our waking days on work, stress, relationships, debt, the pursuit of non-need things, figuring out culture, gossip, family time, destroyed relationships, spirituality or lack there of, and plenty of other things. I think we got to a point that we (while qualified), don’t really realistically have the time and effort to make the positive changes we need to make our world situation better. We are way to preoccupied with dealing the bull of our lives to unify and build something modern and meaningful for ourselves. The boys in power know this and the results are here. And what do we do? Just scream! Thats like saying “talk about it but don’t be about it”. We work for wages that don’t reflect out natural living costs (which are horribly skewed). We let our public chosen/public controlled (theoretically) govern ment run out liberties and way of life to the ground. We let it happen. We are so caught up with blinders on that we have turned from brilliant stallions to ass following the carrot on a string. I say we fucked ourselves over lovely. We deserve what is happening to us ALL right now. We decided to follow a PS3 rather than the P.T.A. But you know what? As simple as all the energy that went into this downfall, it can easily just shift to a new focus of enlightenment and progress. It is hard to do so, oh yes, but quite possible. We just need a believable map….
Watching the classic “Clash of the Titans”, I couldn’t help but ask the simple question.
What the hell does Medusa do all day?
Think about it. You were an absolute beauty priestess who got seduced by the god Poseidon, transformed into an abomination gorgon by a jealous Athena and finally cast away to the Isle of the Dead, where you spend your days doing what? For people to even pay you a visit, they have to pay the Charon to take you over the river of death to get to you. Then if they make it, the very sight of you will turn them into stone.
That just sounds like a depressing scenario for anyone to be living. What does she eat? It’s a fucking island! She can’t look at nobody or they turn to stone and that ain’t edible. How does she kill time when not turning things to stone and slithering about? Does she twitle her thumbs? Does she sculpt? I would. Does she sleep away the days? Does she sleep at all? Maybe she has imaginary friends. Perhaps she writes tragedies all day. She has plenty of inspiration for that. Does she pray for better days? She was a priestess you know. I don’t know man, just saying…
I can truly care less about Tiger Woods personal life. We all have our skeletons one way or another. Let his private life be private. If anything this whole situation is a tremendous example of how demonic and horrible the media machine is and also how we the public, support this ludicrous gossip in real time. Surprisingly enough, NBA/Queens resident Ron Artest recently wrote a wonderfully simple open letter to Mr Woods. Ron Ron was never a stranger to scandal and criticism and he shed some much needed perspective to the situation for Tiger…
“On the way to 2010 we had many ups and downs on the way, mostly my fault. But I really choose to work hard and play ball to support her and my kids. The same reason you are building your legacy.
I have been disturbed by this because there are many people who are happy that this bad news has come out.
There are a lot of sports announcers and regular reporters who are not perfect in their own homes, yet they want to bring you down.
You have done so much for people, the sport of golf, and your family and you gave your wife a life that people can’t even dream of…”
You can read it in it’s entirety HERE
It’s refreshing to hear stuff like this than the typical bashing that comes from the machine we coexist with. Perhaps more of this can be conjured up…
